The primary goal of this project was to generate excitement and awareness around the return of Never Mind the Buzzcocks on Sky. The challenge was to make the show feel fresh and unmissable while seamlessly integrating key talent and staying true to the branding of previous series, including its signature colour palette, tone, and Title Art. A pastiche secondary key art should also be explored.
The design process involves exploring multiple iterations, many of which don’t make the final cut but play a crucial role in shaping the end result. Below, you’ll find a selection of concept designs created for NMTB, along with insights into the creative thought process. This section also includes behind-the-scenes shots from our pastiche photoshoot, capturing the essence of the project’s development.
The selected creative direction featured sound waves weaving in and out of the main talent, symbolising the diverse range of music discussed on the show and the differing opinions of the panelists. This concept visually reinforced the dynamic and unpredictable nature of the programme.
Alongside the primary key art featuring sound waves, the secondary key art was a pastiche of The Beatles’ iconic Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band photoshoot. This approach required a meticulous post-production process, where body doubles were used during the shoot, and the talent’s heads were seamlessly composited in Photoshop to achieve the final look.
